Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii
Karen Andersen has been promoted to senior vice president of Anthology Digital. Andersen has been with the company for more than 15 years. As senior vice president she will have an increased role in management decisions and efforts regarding operations, fiscal management, business development and overall strategy. Andersen also will continue her work as creative director. She is the Web chairwoman for the Hawaii chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Mark Gurney has been appointed manager of the Beretania branch of Central Pacific Bank. Gurney has more than 20 years of banking experience primarily in leadership positions such as business relationship manager and branch manager. He previously was with American Savings Bank. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Chaminade University.
Todd Oldham has been named director of food and beverage at The Kahala Hotel & Resort. Oldham will oversee the resort’s four restaurants and lounges and the 24-hour in-room food service department. His first major project will be to oversee the remodeling construction and grand opening of the hotel’s newest Napolo-style Italian restaurant, Arancino at The Kahala, opening early 2013. Oldham served most recently as the general manager of 22 Degrees North on Kauai.
Abigail Nickell has been announced as MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Hawaii’s executive director. Nickell most recently served as executive director of the Women’s Fund of Hawaii, where she steered all efforts related to the mission of supporting grassroots programs for the purpose of empowering women and girls in Hawaii. Previously, Nickell served in roles with Save the Food Basket program, National Sclerosis Society and Jewish Geriatric Services.
