Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii – 10/9/13
Sharon Thom has been named senior vice president, Hawaii area manager for Kiewit Building Group Inc. In her new role, Thom will oversee the company’s vertical construction work in Hawaii, including business development, marketing, estimating, special projects, design-build, design-assist, operations and human resources. She brings to her new job more than 20 years of diverse experience in business, development, planning and project management in the Hawaii construction industry.
Susan Bass has been named vice president of Pacific Home Lending. In her new role, Bass will work as loan manager and originator, and will oversee client and Realtor relations. Bass has been a residential mortgage lender for more than a decade. She previously was branch manager and loan originator for DHI Mortgage and, prior to that, senior loan officer for Gentry HomeLoans.
Sonny Domingo has been promoted to senior analyst with Aston Hotels & Resorts. In his new position, he will be responsible for planning, managing and securing the Aston Hotels & Resorts information technology infrastructure, and will play a key role in upgrading the current system to support new applications and technologies. Domingo has more than 15 years of experience in system analysis and administration, most recently working for New City Nissan in Honolulu.
Brenda Asuncion has been hired as a Loko I’a coordinator to facilitate the implementation of the project goals at OHA. She now is responsible for statewide gatherings and training opportunities for fishpond practitioners, increased number of permitted restoration projects, streamlined communication with agencies relevant for restoration projects, and coordinated inventory and research opportunities.
Grant Nakagawa has been appointed chief financial officer for PBR Hawaii. He now is responsible for the supervision and direction of the accounting department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial and tax information and related reports, compliance with corporate policies and governmental requirements, as well as furtherance of the company’s financial goals. He also will assist principals with financial management decisions by providing financial analysis relevant to the decision. Prior to his move to PBR Hawaii, Nakagawa served as controller at Hilo Hattie.
Dante Camara has been appointed manager of Park Restaurant, where he will oversee all restaurant operations. He brings to the position an extensive career in restaurant management to the position and previously served as manager for Hoku’s restaurant at The Kahala Hotel & Resort.
Bianca Mordasini has been appointed director of communications and marketing with The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. She will be responsible for implementation and delivery of communication campaigns and materials in support of the Chamber’s approximately 1,000 member companies. Mordasini previously worked at CARE Hawaii Inc., overseeing all communications, public relations and event planning.
