Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii – 5/7/14
Jan Sam has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president in the Corporate Banking Division at First Hawaiian Bank. She now is responsible for providing corporate banking services to customers in Hawaii and on the Mainland. She first joined the bank in 2008.
Michelle Shin has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president in First Hawaiian Bank’s Commercial Loan Center. She now is responsible for managing the commercial real estate loan-documentation and loan-support sections within the commercial loan center. She is an attorney, and prior to joining the bank in 2012, she was with the law firm Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert.
Tracy Jones has been named president and owner of Sonitrol of Hawaii. He previously served as president of Sonitrol of Eugene (Oregon) from 1990 until 2009. He now rejoins Sonitrol after having started his career in the late 1970s, while still in high school, working for Sonitrol of Eugene as a technician.
Grant K.T. Kubota has been promoted to first vice president of wealth management with Morgan Stanley. Kubota has extensive experience in retirement and estate planning; investment management and portfolio analysis; and now is responsible for advising individuals, families and business clientele. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced as a CPA with the global accounting firm KPMG.
John Yeh has been hired as director of Risōurce Energy. His responsibilities now include overseeing sales and operations, and launching the commercial division of the company. He previously worked at Bonterra Solar Hawaii from 2011 to 2014 as vice president of business development. He also is a founding partner of networking group 808 Social Networkers.
