Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii – 3/5/14
Earl Kurisu has been hired by Hawaiian Host as director of sales in the Asia-Pacific region. He has more than nine years of experience in sales, and now will coordinate and develop sales and marketing activities for Hawaiian Host in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Japan. He will work closely with the distributors and brokers in the domestic and travel sectors in Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Shanghai and Malaysia, among others.
Patrick Matsumoto has been promoted to vice president and commercial banking manager with Central Pacific Bank. In his new role, Matsumoto is responsible for establishing and sustaining an effective sales and sales management process to develop a motivated and productive sales force. Matsumoto has been with CPB since 2012 and has 14 years of banking experience.
Cyndy Knudson has been promoted to director-finance and information systems with John Mullen & Company. Having been with the company for 25 years leading financial operations, Knudson will assume management of its claim information system development and expansion.
Annie Kuhlmann has been hired as general manager-operations with CanDo Construction Supply LLC. She will be responsible for purchasing, inventory control and inside sales business development, and also will contribute to sales training. She previously served in senior executive roles with local companies Safety Systems Hawaii, Miyake Concrete Accessories, Acoustical Material Services and Burke Hawaii.
Mark M. Murakami, a lawyer with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert, has been promoted to captain in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Murakami graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1992 and served on active duty for 13 years. He has been an attorney with the Honolulu-based law firm since 2005.
