Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii – 3/12/14

Alan H. Kodama has been named to the list of “America’s Top 1,200 Advisors: State-by-State,” which is published by Barron’s magazine, a publication that covers business and finance. Kodama is a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial in Honolulu, and he provides customized financial advice that is anchored in a solid understanding of client needs and expectations.

Nicole Lemas has been hired as project developer for RevoluSun’s Oahu division. She now will work with homeowners to achieve energy independence by designing custom solar systems. She also will be involved with Project Empower, RevoluSun’s outreach arm that provides resources, support and education to nonprofit and community groups. She most recently worked for Commercial Northwest in Boise, Idaho.

Perry Battle has been promoted to vice president of sales in North America with Hawaiian Host Inc. In his new role, he will oversee and direct all sales activities and sales personnel in North America, including Canada and Mexico. He previously was sales manager responsible for managing and training brokers to sell to new and established wholesale and retail accounts, and maintaining customer relations.

Terry Wells has been hired as regional chief development officer with the Hawaii state chapter of American Red Cross. She now will lead a team raising support for the Pacific Islands Region (Hawaii, Guam and Saipan) of American Red Cross, whose mission includes aiding disaster victims, teaching people to save lives and providing services to the armed forces. She previously was with University of Hawaii Foundation, serving as assistant vice president of development for Manoa’s Shidler College of Business. Wells has more than 25 years in business management, sales and marketing, and public relations

John Taira has been promoted to senior vice president and commercial banking division manager with Central Pacific Bank. He now will oversee four commercial banking teams and the Business Client Service Center. Taira has been with CPB since 2003 and has more than 25 years of banking experience having held positions in Items Processing, Branch Management, Special Assets, Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Lending.
