Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii – 2/19/14
Pattie Herman has been promoted to director of sales and marketing for Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. She will embark on sales and marketing initiatives for the U.S., European and worldwide markets, and will continue in her role as area director of sales and marketing-Asia for the eight-property cluster, which includes Marriott Resorts Hawaii and Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, working with the major Asian markets.
Steven Kothenbeutel has been promoted to vice president of acquisitions and development for Avalon Development Company LLC. He will continue Avalon’s established traditions by implementing its acquisition and development strategies with unique insight and uncompromising integrity. He has been with Avalon for eight years, and most recently was senior project manager.
Shannon E. Pierce has been admitted as partner with Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP. Pierce joined Goodsill in 2011 as counsel when she brought her experience in intellectual property, licensing, Internet and e-commerce, privacy, and mergers and acquisitions to the firm. She previously practiced at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Silicon Valley and in Hawaii.
Jaren Shigeta has been hired as health care insurance analyst with ProService Hawaii. He will perform methodical analyses of its health and welfare lines of insurance, including regular reporting to identify risks and opportunities, and ad-hoc modeling to analyze the impact of changing business dynamics He also regularly reviews its health care population.
Toni Muranaka has been appointed state executive director of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Hawaii. She now is responsible for the staff and advisory board development, fiscal management, fundraising, government and foundation grant relations, and the delivery of high-quality program initiatives.
