Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii – 1/28/15
Bruce Coppa has joined Capitol Consultants of Hawaii as executive vice president and partner. Coppa has a long history in business, labor, construction, public relations and government, having served successfully in those fields over the past 38 years. He previously was chief of staff to Gov. Neil Abercrombie, as well as vice president of E.E. Black, original executive director of Pacific Resource Partnership and COO of Communications Pacific.
Ryan Masa has been named principal of Assets School, grades K-8. He also currently is president of the board of the Hawaii branch of International Dyslexia Association, and is an adjunct professor at Chaminade University of Honolulu. He most recently worked at Hawaii Association of Independent Schools.
Richard Hobson Jr. has been named president of Building Industry Association of Hawaii’s board of directors. He will guide and lead the team and incoming 2015 board. He currently is vice president of sales and marketing at Gentry Homes Ltd.
Morgan Kaya has been hired as a human resources consultant with simplicityHR by ALTRES in its Honolulu office. She is responsible for providing solutions to help businesses simplify their payroll process, human resources management, benefits administration and workers’ comp, so they can focus on what they do best: growing their business.
Jeff Grimmer has been appointed vice president, finance operations and administration with First Insurance Company of Hawaii. In addition to serving as FICOH’s treasurer, he oversees the company’s actuarial services, financial analysis, enterprise risk management and corporate accounting functions. He first joined FICOH in 2006 as an actuary. He also is a chartered property casualty underwriter (CPCU), regarded as one of the premier designations in the property and casualty insurance industry.
