Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii – 1/1/14
Lynette Ching has been hired as account executive with Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. She now will be responsible for identifying and actively developing new members and marketing membership services. Ching recently served as project manager for Sesame Street Live, overseeing all promotions and advertising for the production. Her experience also includes working in broadcast sales with KSSK radio, COX Radio Hawaii and New Wave Broadcasting.
Shannon Heaven has been appointed president of the Hawaii Aloha chapter of Certified Residential Specialists. She now will act as chief executive officer, presiding over the board of directors, and will assist in developing and coordinating chapter programs, events and membership advancement. Heaven previously served in a variety of capacities within the residential real estate community, and also is a real estate agent and property manager at Property Profiles Inc. in Honolulu.
Madeleine M.V. Young has been hired as an attorney with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert. She will work in its Estate Planning Practice Group and focus on trust and estate litigation. She has prior experience as a staff attorney with Legal Aid Society of Hawaii’s Asset Protection Unit. Young earned her Juris doctor degree at Northwestern University School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts with General Honors in Law, Letters and Society from the University of Chicago and is an alumna of Iolani School.
Dennis Cruz has been hired as director of safety and security at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, overseeing a team of more than 50 officers at the 22-acre, 3,500-room beachfront resort. In addition to looking after the safety and security of the resort’s guests and team members, Cruz also is responsible for risk management and disaster preparedness in accordance to Hilton Worldwide policies and procedures, as well as execution of any necessary emergency plans. He most recently worked at Swissotel Hotels & Resorts in Chicago as director of risk management, and at Morgans Hotel Group as director of security.
