Business Leaders on the Move in Hawaii – 10/15/14
Jeffrey M. Kissel has been hired as executive director of Hawaii Health Connector. He will direct the organization’s efforts to bring high-quality, affordable health care coverage to Hawaii residents. Most recently, Kissel was president and CEO of Hawai’i GAS, and he previously served in senior roles and led strategy at URS Corporation. He is active in community and professional organizations, sits on the board of directors of Pacific Rim Bank and is a member of the National Petroleum Council.
Wendy K. Manuel, CPA, has been named vice president and CFO of Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Along with her duties managing all financial activities for REHAB Hospital and Foundation as CFO, she has several departments reporting to her. Her new responsibilities include management of human resources, facilities, business development, patient financial services and the new physicians’ clinic.
Ma Ry Kim has been hired as principal and design director for Group 70 International. She has more than 20 years of industry experience, and prior to joining G70, Kim spent 15 years at Gensler, an internationally renowned design firm.
Joe Simpkins has been promoted to program operations manager at Hawaii Energy. His responsibilities include detailed planning and execution of Hawaii Energy’s annual plan. He works closely with various teams and clean energy allies to ensure all programs meet or exceed annual targets in energy savings and incentive dollars returned to utility ratepayers.
Stefan Kant has been hired as a loan officer at Honolulu HomeLoans. He will specialize in residential mortgage loan origination. After graduating from Cornell University with a business degree, Kant worked for eight years in the finance industry in New York City.
