Beta Beta Gamma Sorority’s Debutante Ball
The Beta Beta Gamma (BBG) Sorority celebrated its 66th annual Debutante Ball April 19 at the Japanese Cultural Center. In 1948 a group of Korean students formed one of 7 ethnic-related sororities which were popular social groups for young women to meet and bond in fellowship on the UH Manoa campus. BBG is the only active sorority remaining, and its membership is now open to women of all ethnic backgrounds. BBG Foundation, the fundraising arm of the sorority, annually raises more than $10,000 which is donated to local causes.
