ARA To Revisit ‘This Island’
Students at American Renaissance Academy will present Once On This Island Jr. Thursday and Friday at the J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa.
The performances mark the fifth anniversary of the Kalaeloa school’s musical theatre production programs. This play was selected to celebrate the anniversary, as it was the first play that the school put on.
Once On This Island Jr. tells the story of a peasant girl who rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of town. Student actors from all grades have roles in the play.
“Our students have worked so hard and come so far since our first production five years ago. We really felt that they deserved the perform in an excellent venue,” said ARA music director Christopher Lowe.
The play will be performed four times: two evening shows Thursday and two daytime shows Friday. For more information, times and tickets, visit arahawaii.org or call 682-7337. Tickets also will be available at the door.
