Aiea Town Hall Meeting Covers College Facts For Parents
West Oahu lawmakers have called for an Aiea-Pearl City town hall meeting Thursday night aimed at parents and students of all ages.
“College Prep 4 Parents” is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Pearl Ridge Elementary School cafeteria, 98-940 Moanalua Road.
There will be presentations on college admissions and financial aid, made by expert retired high school counselors, as well as a mini college fair.
“We will highlight the invited college counselors from Farrington, Moanalua, Radford, Aiea and Pearl City high schools during our seminar,” stated Rep. Gregg Takayama, noting that a question-and-answer segment will follow, along with the college fair featuring UH System campuses.
The community program is sponsored by state Reps. Takayama, Aaron Ling Johanson, Roy Takumi and K. Mark Takai; state Sens. Donna Mercado Kim and David Ige, and City Councilmembers Carol Fukunaga and Breene Harimoto.
