A Busy Weekend For Kailua’s Christians

Progressive Christianity has planned events Friday through Sunday at Kailua churches, and the public is welcome to attend. However, the first two programs may have passed the reservation deadline. * Friday Progressive Christianity Leadership Dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. at Windward United Church of Christ, 38 Kaneohe Bay Drive. Admission is $10 and includes dinner. Rev. Fred Plumer will discuss “Leading a Church Through Change” for interested clergy and lay leaders.

* Saturday Progressive Christianity Conference from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Christ Church Uniting Disciples & Presbyterians, 1300 Kailua Road. Admission is $25, including lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments. On the agenda is a forum panel discussion on “Off the Map: Charting New Territory for Progressive Faith” and related topics.

* Sunday Progressive Christianity Service at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Uniting. The free service features a message from Rev. Fred Plumer, president of the organization.
