Donation ‘Transforms’ Nonprofits

Transform Hawai‘i Government recently gave Hawai‘i Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations a $25,000 grant to develop an educational toolkit that equips nonprofits to be better prepared to work with government agencies that issue federal funds for community services. The curriculum will familiarize these organizations with the application process that leads to a contract and is projected to be ready by early 2023. Gift Allows Association To Further Its Mission

Kāhala Nui and its associates and residents donated more than $55,000 to support the local efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The nonprofit provides caregiver training and education programs, as well as assists groups statewide in supporting the nearly 100,000 kūpuna and their caregivers impacted by the disease or another form of dementia. Funds Support Maui Program That Serves Kūpuna

Gladys Quinto Marrone (middle, left), executive director of Honolulu-based Nareit Hawai‘i, presents Binhi At Ani president Melen Agcolicol (middle, right) with a $30,000 check to support its Bayanihan Feeding Program, which provides free meals to Maui seniors on fixed incomes. Joining in the presentation are government officials, community leaders and supporters of the Binhi At Ani Filipino Community Center. The Nareit Hawai‘i grant will not only support the program’s continuation, but will also allow Binhi At Ani to expand its reach to more residents in other senior housing communities.
