Campaign Fuels Keiki School Year Prep
Aloha Petroleum donated $5,000 to The Salvation Army in support of the nonprofit organization’s back-to-school campaign. The corporate sponsorship will enable The Salvation Army to purchase approximately 200-250 backpacks for keiki in need. Scholarship Honors UH Mānoa Students
The Consulate General of Japan held an award presentation ceremony for the 2022 Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) Japanese Studies (Nihongo Nihonbunka Kenshuu Ryuugakusei) Scholarship. This year, Liv Peralta and Kylie Higashionna of University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa were two of the four students from the United States selected by the embassy and consulates to receive this scholarship. Peralta and Higashionna will both be studying Japanese language and culture at Keio University in Tokyo from October 2022 to July 2023. Realty Firm ‘Supplies’ Island Keiki With Support
Coldwell Banker Realty’s agents and staff held a back-to-school drive at all six of its real estate office locations on O‘ahu to benefit Wai‘anae Coast keiki. Donated items included used and new clothing, footwear, school supplies such as notebooks, backpacks, pencils, erasers and binders, as well as gift cards and $200 in monetary donations.
