Lanakila Baptist School Food Drive
Since 2002, Lanakila Baptist School has been collecting food for the state’s food banks as a way of giving back to the community and to ensure Hawai‘i’s people have a blessed holiday season. This year, they collected 12,482 pounds, bringing the total to 99 tons to date. A bulk of the food went to River of Life Mission, and about 500 pounds each was donated to local food pantries at ‘Ewa Beach Baptist, Lighthouse Ministries and St. Joseph Church. Donations were received from students, parents, faculty and staff, while Pinky Tows lent its services for the delivery of the food to River of Life Mission. PHOTO COURTESY LANAKILA BAPTIST SCHOOL
