Bastille Day Lives On At Waialae
It’s been more than 200 years since the French people defied the monarchy by storming the Bastille prison, but local Francophiles can “storm” Waialae Country Club July 14 to celebrate the event with food, wine, music and dancing – all French, of course.
Reservations are due by Saturday for Bastille Day, set for 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the club and featuring La Marseillaise played by the Royal Hawaiian Band and speeches by the mayor, Honolulu’s honorary French consul and the governor’s wife.
Admission is $55 for adults and $25 for children under 12. To reserve seats online, go to afhawaii.org/content/events.
