Ingenerational Center In Ewa Receives Grant
The Atherton Family Foundation recently granted $50,000 to St. Francis Healthcare Foundation for the new St. Francis Intergenerational Center that’s currently under construction on 1.25 acres in Ewa Villages.
The foundation is a local private foundation dedicated to supporting charitable activities of benefit to the people of Hawaii.
The center will be a 15,000-square-foot independent living community for seniors.
Along with adult day care, the center also will include a preschool with the stated goal of bringing keiki and kupuna together for various activities in order to create an environment of intergenerational learning and connections to enrich the experience of both age groups.
The St. Francis Intergenerational Center is scheduled to open in January 2013.
