Renew Library Cards Before June 1
Haven’t used your library card in years? Beware, the state library system is in “consolidating patron database” mode and will purge all inactive accounts on June 1.
Any card-holder who has not borrowed materials in the past three years, has no charges or fees attached, or who has left the Islands will no longer exist in the system. It’s called being efficient or, in bureaucratic speak: “Removing these accounts will provide an updated, more accurate database for our business and management uses.”
If Central Oahu residents find themselves among the purged, they may reactivate their cards free of charge by filling out a new application. Purged Internet users also may reactivate for free.
