How To Rise And Shine
Dear Pamela,
I brought my two kids for breakfast at Rise and Shine in Mililani Mauka. When I tried to pay our bill, I was told that someone had paid for us.
The waitress said that the person thought I was a single mother. He/she was right. My husband died just nine months before. I started crying, I was so touched by the kindness of this stranger. I hope this person knows that he/she made a difference that day.

Dear Pamela,
I’m writing on behalf of my 86-year-old mother. I want to thank the very generous man shopping for coffee at Wahiawa Longs.
My mother also was shopping for coffee. After commiserating with this man on the cost of 100 percent Kona coffee, the man purchased five bags and gave my mother two, refusing her money.
My mother was both shocked and sincerely grateful. This man’s generous action truly made her day and restored her faith that there still are really good people in the world.

Dear Pamela,
I found a bag of groceries near my front door Sunday. That angel needs some APPLAUSE. Whoever you are, I thank you so very much. I will always remember this day and the aloha you have shown me.

Hi Pamela,
After shopping at Waipio Costco, my daughter and I put our boxes in the back of the van and drove off. After turning to get on the freeway, we heard a loud noise.
Our box had fallen out onto the street. Cars were going around to avoid the groceries on the freeway. To my amazement, a middle-aged man in a gray truck stopped and started picking up the groceries and loading them into our van!
Good men are hard to find, but we found one. Mahalo to him. Hope he reads your column.

Dear Pamela,
I want to thank the person who turned in my phone at Kmart. My husband died recently, and I had pictures in my phone that meant a lot to me.
I am very grateful for the honesty of this person. May God bless her and may her days always bring her the happiness she deserves.

Dear Darlene, Carolyn, Marie, T.K and Jennifer,
Your angels certainly deserve APPLAUSE, but you have earned standing ovations.
Raising a family is one of the most challenging, yet rewarding occupations.
We hope this Sunday finds you pampered and surrounded by loved ones.
If you know someone who deserves some Applause, send your letters to Pamela Young, MidWeek Applause, KITV, 801 S. King St., Honolulu, HI 96813. Include your name, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of your “applaudee” so we can contact him or her. pyoung@kitv.com
