May Events At Kapolei Library
Julia Keiko Matsui Higa will visit Kapolei Library at 6:30 tonight (Wednesday) to share stories from her book Being Local in Hawaii.
Higa (aka Julia Estrella) also will sign copies of her books, which will be available for sale at the event.
Movie producer and author Jason Scott Jones will discuss his first book,
The Race to Save Our Century: Five Core Principles to Promote Peace, Freedom, and a Culture of Life, at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Jones, a Kapolei resident, also has produced films including Bella, Crescendo and The Stoning of Soraya M.
Dr. Russell Yang, a gastroenterologist at Pali Momi Medical Center, will conduct a meet-and-greet at 1 p.m. May 16 at the library to discuss gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), the possibility of heartburn leading to cancer, the importance of screening, upper endoscopy and GERD treatment options.
Yang also will evaluate heartburn medications and their possible side effects.
