PACK Presents ‘West Side Story!’

West Side Story! is coming to West Oahu, thanks to Performing Arts Center of Kapolei (PACK). It hits the forum stage March 20-April 4 at Kapolei High School.

Fifty young performers take part in what has been deemed one of the greatest love stories of all time. The musical tells the story of Maria (Lani Matsumoto) and Tony (Austen Amparo), who hail from different New York City neighborhoods. Can their love overcome the hatred between rival street gangs Sharks and Jets?

Guests will enjoy the musical score from Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein that features classics such as Something’s Coming, Tonight, America, I Feel Pretty and Somewhere.

Thomas Olson (Riff), Chance Ingalls (Bernado) and Rache Sapla (Anita) also join the cast. PACK’s rendition is directed by Meagan Olson, and Elika Santos heads up the vocal direction with Aiko Schick and Tonesha Holland directing choreography. Expect high-energy fight scenes and dance numbers.

Performances are scheduled for March 20, 27 and 28, and April 3 and 4 at 7 p.m.; tickets cost $6. Family night dates are March 26 and April 2 at 6 p.m., and admission is $5. Tickets are available online at showtix4u.com or by calling 305-8048.
