Meliza Spellman of Ewa Beach has been named Wet’n’Wild Hawaii’s new local group sales manager. In her role, Spellman will lead all group sales efforts, interfacing with local companies, nonprofits, schools and more to prepare group sales tickets, tailoring events to fit each group’s needs and developing marketing strategies to encourage new groups to visit the waterpark. Spellman has more than five years of experience in sales, customer service and business management. Prior to Wet‘n’Wild Hawaii, she worked as a senior consultant at Thirty One Gifts and as an account clerk at Brigham Young University.
Marc Kup of Waipahu has been appointed senior director of fleet transaction with Hawaiian Airlines. In his new role, Kup is responsible for overseeing the negotiation and purchasing of new aircraft for Hawaiian Airlines as the carrier continues to expand its fleet. He previously served as senior director of maintenance engineering.
Katy Perry has been selected as Honolulu Community Action Program (HCAP) central district community services manager in Aiea. She has more than 24 years of relevant experience, having started with HCAP in 1990 as a community worker providing an array of programs and services to low-income individuals and families. In 2006 she was named assistant community services manager at Central District Service Center, where she was instrumental in providing direct services to clients, as well as administrative tasks such as reporting, updating procedures, internal audits of program records and case management training.
Kapolei’s Brande Yago has been hired as a construction administration assistant with Group 70 International Inc. She now is responsible for assisting in the administration of several large projects currently under construction. Prior to joining G70, she was an executive assistant at Welding & Industrial Trades Construction in Kapolei.
Joelle Lujan of Ewa Beach has been hired as an interior designer with Group 70 International Inc. She now is responsible for design and selection of interior finishes and FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment), specifications, and fabricating construction drawings and furniture plans. Prior to joining G70, Lujan spent four years at WATG as a designer, where her project highlights included Halekulani Hotel and Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa.
Roy Agustin has been promoted to brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force. He is the son of Vicente Agustin of Waipahu and Magdalena Agustin. He currently is director of installations and mission support with Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. He has served in the military for 25 years.
