50 Keiki Cast In CPAC’s ‘Hairspray Jr.’
It will be the second time Hairspray has graced Windward stages in the last six months, but this time it’s Castle Performing Arts Center putting on Hairspray Jr. Feb. 6-8 at the high school’s Ronald E. Bright Theatre.
Fifty Castle Complex students in grades 5-8 star in this abridged adaptation of the Broadway musical that finds plump Tracy Turnblad trying to become a TV star on “The Corny Collins Show,” overcoming prejudice, making friends and finding love along the way.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday for the public. CPAC will run morning shows twice a day from Feb. 3 to 5 for students from Complex schools. Tickets cost $8-$12 online at showtix4u.com.
