Readers To Stage War Comedy

Award-winning local actress Jo Pruden heads the cast for the second Windward Readers Theatre production of the season next week in Kaneohe.

Set for 7 p.m. Jan. 6 and 8, and 2 p.m. Jan. 11 at Pohai Nani auditorium, the Vanita Rae Smith-directed 1940s comedy is Soldier’s Wife, which enjoyed a short, successful Broadway revival in 2006. Playwright Rose Franken also was a prominent novelist and screen-writer of that era.

Hui o Pohai Nani sponsors Readers Theatre, presented by the retirement facility’s entertainment committee. Admission is free, but donations are welcome to cover royalty fees.
