A World Of Christmas Music

Christmas and choral music go hand in hand, which is why Windward Choral Society will offer its seventh annual holiday concert this weekend at Kailua United Methodist Church.

Themed “Christmas, International,” performances begin at 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 13 and 14) at the church, located at 1110 Kailua Road.

In addition to traditional Christmas carols, the 100-member chorus will sing songs from around the world, including Hawaii, Nigeria and Spain; Hebrew songs for Hanukah; African-American gospel; and two original compositions from John Starr Alexander. The audience should expect to sing along to a few songs, too.

Concert admission is free, but donations are accepted to offset performance costs.
