Dentist Offers Free Cleaning

Dental procedures can be quite expensive, even with insurance, so the Waipahu-based Hurtado Dental has implemented Dentistry from the Heart to offer free dental work to patients this Sunday on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hurtado Dental is the first dentistry office in the state to participate in the national event.

The Sunday promotion will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and those in attendance can get their teeth cleaned, filled or extracted — regardless of whether they have insurance.

“We thought this would be a good way to give back to the community,” said hygienist Winnie Rose. “We’re hoping that we make an impact for other dental offices in Hawaii, as well.”
