Windward Oahu residents may be eligible for the 2012 Randy Kalahiki Higher Education/Professional-Vocational Incentive Grant.
The $500 tuition scholarship will be awarded this summer to students who live or work in the KualoaHeeia area. Deadline to apply is April 30.
The scholarship honors Kalahiki, a former executive director of KEY (KualoaHeeia Ecumenical Youth Project) who inspired youths to reach high. The annual program is funded from KEY’s yearly Kalua Turkey Imu Project.
The award of $500 per semester is renewable for up to two full years of courses. Students must be island residents accepted at a two-year or four-year Hawaii college or vocational program, carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Preference is given to former KEY participants and first-generation college students.
