Kailua To Host Pitching Clinics
Fans of the film Million-Dollar Arm will have seen actor Bill Paxton’s portrayal of legendary pitching coach Tom House. But those who attend Baseball Academy of Hawaii’s Aug. 28-31 pitching clinics at Kailua High School baseball field will get a chance to learn from the man himself.
The three-day clinic is open to 50 aspiring pitchers over age 8. The program runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 28 for all ages; 9 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 30 for ages 8-11, and 1 to 4:30 p.m. for 12 and older. Everyone reconvenes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 31. Tuition is $200.
A former MLB pitcher, co-founder of National Pitching Association and occasional NFL quarterback coach, House will share instructor duties with Kailua High’s Corey Ishigo and Charlie McNicoll and Kaneohe Little League’s Colby Kashimoto.
