A Chance For Fiddling Around This Weekend
“Bluegrass in the Koolaus” is back for an encore of serious jamming and fun fiddling this weekend at Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden.
The public is welcome to attend the workshops, listen to the bands and join in the jamming Friday, Saturday and Sunday during park hours. (Camping deadline for Bluegrass Hawaii members has passed.) Meals are provided but donations are welcome.
Among Saturday’s workshops are fiddling at 9 a.m. with Scott Fox, who plays with the River Pigs and Burnin’ Moonlight in Central Oregon; beginning guitar with Andy Char at 10 a.m. and slow jams with Bob Schornstheimer at 11 a.m. Award-winning Colorado singer/songwriter Patty Clayton will lead a songwriting workshop at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The full schedule runs from 9 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday (and beyond for registered musicians and guests).
