Easter Bunny Making Its Rounds
The Easter Bunny is on its way to town and will make an appearance at Aloha Stadium Swap Meet and Marketplace and Salvation Army’s Egg-citing Easter Celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13 at the North Plaza (gates 6 and 7).
Keiki will have a chance to get a photo with the Easter Bunny, as well as participate in a number of activities that include face painting, inflatables, train rides, and arts and crafts.
Eggs also will be hidden around the plaza – and kids can collect them to win prizes. To pre-register for the egg hunt, visit eventbrite.com/e/egg-citing-easter-celebration-tickets-11027516599. Three categories are available: ages 4 and under, 5 to 9, and 10 to 12. The hunt is limited to 500 children.
For the adults, the swap meet will operate as usual.
Participants are encouraged to bring a donation of canned food, which will benefit the Salvation Army.

For more Easter fun, Honolulu Board of Water Supply and the Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden host “Decorate an Egg, the Xeriscape Way Workshop and Easter Egg Hunt” from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 19. During the workshop, keiki can decorate eggs with leaves, flowers and other xeriscape plants found in the garden. Along the way, they also will learn how these plants can help to conserve water.
It all ends with an egg hunt, where keiki will search the grounds for prize-filled eggs. Children must be ages 2-12 and accompanied by an adult.
Participants should bring four to six boiled or blown eggs to decorate, a basket to collect eggs and a brown-bag lunch.
Advanced registration is required by 2 p.m. April 18, or until all spaces are filled. Fee is $5. Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden members are eligible for a discount, depending on their level of membership. To register, call 748-5363 or email workshops@hbws.org.
