Fun ‘Fling’ Saturday At Kalaheo

Kalaheo PTSA’s Dollars for Scholars committee presents Spring Fling 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the school field to boost its scholarship fund.

Attendees can expect entertainment, a silent auction, plant sale and a dunk tank, in addition to food trucks, crafters, face painting and a bake sale.

“I want people to come enjoy themselves and be relaxed, so they think it’s an enjoyable event and want to come back,” said co-chairwoman Andrea Farleigh.

She hopes to make it an annual tradition and has spent the last couple of years gathering people who are willing to help. Her band now has about 20 volunteers.

“This is the only funding we get for the scholarships,” she said, adding that any Kalaheo senior who is moving on to higher education can apply for a grant.
