KEY ‘Unlocks’ Its Doors For Annual Open House

Kahaluu will be a hub of information on community resources this month – from youth and conservation activities to healthy aging – all in two evenings at KEY Project at 47-200 Waihee Road.

KEY (Kualoa-Heeia Ecumenical Youth) Project, a longtime multi-purpose community center, plans its annual open house from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 19, featuring an array of exhibits and information booths on its own social services, as well as related local programs and activities sponsored by other agencies.

Refreshments will be provided by KEY’s commercial kitchen, the Kipuka Cafe, with help from its first class of culinary students. For more information, call 239-5777.

KEY also will host a dinner and discussion March 27, “Na Kupuna: A Discussion on Healthy Aging and Getting the Help You and Your Ohana Need.” Presenter will be UH associate professor of social work Lana Ka’opua. Dinner at this event will be provided by Kipuka Cafe and funded by Ha Kupuna, the National Resource Center for Native Hawaiian Elders at UH Manoa.

To attend the dinner and program, RSVP to Meredith at 956-3585 or email trockman@hawaii.edu.
