Matt Bailey has been hired as chief operating officer at Aston Hotels & Resorts. In his new position, Bailey is responsible for Aston’s daily operations and is based at the company’s Honolulu headquarters. He most recently served as managing director at Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa on Maui, and also was chairman of Maui Visitors Bureau and on the board of Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association. Timothy Watkins has been appointed director of continuous improvement at Hawaiian Airlines. In his new role, he will facilitate process improvement initiatives across the organization and work to promote a continuous improvement culture at Hawaiian Airlines. Most recently, he was a consultant instructing Lean Six Sigma programs for various clients in the Seattle area.
Jennifer M. Porter Esq. has joined Porter McGuire Kiakona & Chow, LLP as an associate attorney. Porter will provide counsel and representation for clients facing a variety of legal challenges, concentrating on community and condominium association law as well as construction, commercial and real estate litigation. She previously was a biology and physics teacher at Sacred Hearts Academy.
Glenn Hashimoto has been named president of Suisan. He will take over day-to-day leadership of Suisan, a 106-year-old food-distribution company. Hashimoto, who also is Suisan’s chief executive officer, has been executive vice president and general manager of the company for 41 years.
Brian H. Uemori has been hired as senior vice president and wholesale credit administrator at Bank of Hawaii. He now is responsible for evaluating and approving loans for various markets, including commercial real estate, middle market and corporate banking. Most recently, he worked for the past two years as controller for Commercial Plumbing Inc.
