Ross Stores Helping Out Boys & Girls
Ross Stores Inc. has formed a partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii to strengthen Power Hour, the club’s interactive after-school homework assistance program.
The national chain intends to fund as well as involve its local employees in the effort, which is considered one of America’s top academic support programs.
Ross has a store in Mililani, and BGCH has several Oahu clubhouses that feature programs like Power Hour, which involves adult tutors, training and resources.
“We know that regular participation in out-of-school-time educational programs like Power Hour can help to address the high school dropout crisis and bridge the achievement gap for our youths,” said Tim Motts, CEO of BGCH.
