Firecracker Permits Are Due Dec. 20
Dec. 20 is the final day to obtain firecracker permits for New Year’s Eve.
In Central Oahu, permits can be obtained at Wahiawa Satellite City Hall, 330 N. Cane St. The next closest satellite is at Pearlridge Center Uptown.
Each $25 permit allows the purchase of not more than 5,000 firecrackers from a licensed retailer, and they must be purchased no more than five days prior to use. Hours for setting them off are between 9 p.m. Dec. 31 and 1 a.m. Jan. 1. Remember, all other fireworks are illegal, including fountains and sparklers.
The satellite offices are open weekdays only, Wahiawa from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Pearlridge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
