Constructing A New Year’s Kadomatsu

Deaf Santa Celebration

Traditions of the Pacific Lecture
Atherton Halau – Bishop Museum, 6-7:30 p.m., free for members, $10 general admission. Renowned conservation biologist and wildlife photographer Dr. Robert Shallenberger discusses the two dozen seabirds that call Hawaii home and their migration throughout the Pacific Ocean and beyond. Yuzu Karaoke Challenge Pre-Lims
Yuzu at Ala Moana Hotel, Thursdays through Dec. 19, 7-8:30 p.m., free to enter the challenge, two-drink minimum for all contestants and audience members, ages 21 and older. Yuzu presents its first Yuzu Karaoke Challenge. Participants must be amateurs and soloists, and the chosen song must be in Walter Karaoke’s song list. Finals take place Dec. 26. (yuzuhawaii.com)

A Christmas Carol
