Habilitat Delivers Trees, Service

The Kaneohe-based drug rehab center, Habilitat, is deep into its major Christmas tree fundraiser this week, with two lots set up in town this Saturday, and six more Dec. 7, including Kalaheo High School.

The nonprofit agency has a full line of noble, grand and Douglas fir trees, plus door charms and wreaths available throughout Oahu, and 110 of its residents are actively involved in sales and service. Their service also includes delivery, set-up and tree pick-up from homes and businesses, as requested.

The theme is “help save lives by purchasing your tree from Habilitat.” According to its own figures, Habilitat’s success rate is three times the national average for substance abuse programs with a 54-percent success rate five years after graduation.
