New Art Gallery Opens At Turtle Bay
The North Shore art community has another place to call home with the opening of New Cover Art Gallery at Turtle Bay Resort. Featuring the work of area artists, the rotating exhibits include paintings, drawings and photography that highlight the natural beauty of the area.
Seascape artist Steven Power will be the host artist and also will teach classes from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, focusing on the fundamental tools and techniques of drawing. Classes cost $75 per person. Personalized sessions also are available for all ages and experience levels.
“We are all artists, but we have to become familiar with the tools that are available to us,” said Power. “This gallery not only gives Turtle Bay guests a unique opportunity to learn more about the works of North Shore artists, but also to explore their own creative talents in one of the most breathtaking and inspiring places in the world.”
Power is recognized as one of Hawaii’s most popular fantasy seascape artists, drawing inspiration from his experiences traveling, surfing and living on the North Shore. The gallery features his newly released aluminum open-edition signed and embellished prints, lithographs and accessories.
The other featured artists include;
* Daniela Antar Power, whose work on canvas and aluminum features portraits of musicians and other contemporary representations.
* Surf and ocean photographer Vince Cavataio offers open-edition prints on aluminum, and mini prints.
* Sean Davey is a 30-year veteran surf photographer whose work has been featured on more than 140 magazine covers.
* Lynne Boyer is both a open air and studio oil painter who draws on her experience as a world champion surfer, as well as her love of nature.
