Kailua Screening Of Industrial Hemp Film
Has industrial hemp’s time come for Hawaii?
Local licensed massage therapist Tiffany Seale believes it’s time for Hawaii to welcome industrial help, and she’ll present the documentary Bringing It Home at 3 p.m. Sunday at Morning Brew in Kailua.
The film by Linda Booker and Blaire Johnson is on a national grassroots screening tour to share the benefits of industrial hemp fiber, seed and oil – something the U.S.A. is reluctant to grow, yet advocates say Americans buy more than $450 million in hemp products annually.
The film centers on designer Anthony Brenner and his quest to find the healthiest building material to assure a safe indoor environment for his daughter, who is sensitive to synthetic chemicals. Brenner also completed “America’s First Hemp House” for the former mayor of Asheville, N.C.
The public is invited and donations are welcome. For details, call 492-0013.
