Joint Re-enlistment Aboard USS Missouri
In remembrance of the thousands who lost their lives Sept. 11, the USS Missouri Memorial Association hosted a Joint Reenlistment ceremony on the attack’s 12th anniversary last month, bringing together 36 military personnel from all armed services.
Under Gun Turret One on the USS Missouri, the officers recommitted themselves to the service of their country. The ceremony was led by Maj. Gen. Anthony G. Crutchfield, U.S. Army, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Pacific Command.
“Today’s solemn occasion gave us all the opportunity to reflect and remember the lives sacrificed on this infamous day in history,” stated Michael Carr, president and COO of the USS Missouri Memorial Association. “Our deepest appreciation and gratitude go out to the service members and their families who have recommitted to serving in the armed forces, and for making the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and prosperity of our nation.”
