Reports At The Bay
Hanauma Bay Education Program offers weekly lectures this month ranging from surf icons to the mating secrets of the octopus.
All talks by local experts and researchers begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays in the park theater. They are free and open to the public.
The remaining programs for March are listed below
* March 8 “Hawaii surf icons, their legacies, and ocean conservation” with Stuart Coleman, author of Eddie Would Go and Fierce Heart.
* March 15 Cuttlefish: King of Camouflage, a film produced by the Public Television Program NOVA.
* March 22 “What’s New with Box Jellies?” with Angel Yanagihara, assistant researcher for Pacific Biosciences Research Center at University of Hawaii at Manoa.
* March 29 “Sexual Selection and Mating Displays in Octopus” with Heather Ylitalo-Ward, Ph.D. candidate in the UH Manoa Department of Zoology.
