Civic Orchestra Performs Saturday In Kailua
Oahu Civic Orchestra is coming to Kailua this weekend, offering a free concert to the public at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Church in Kailua, and again at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pearl City Cultural Center.
On the program is Wagner’s Die Meistersinger Overture, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and more.
Hawaii Ecumenical Chorale will perform The Majesty and Glory of Your Name, directed by Aaron Mahi.
The volunteer community orchestra, conducted this night by Grant Okamura, was founded in 1972 as the Windward Symphony Orchestra, and it’s still on a mission to enrich and support all musicians who want to develop and enjoy their musical skills – to the community’s benefit as well.
St. John Vianney is located at 920 Keolu Drive.
