Ukulele Scholarship Deadline Is March 31

Ukulele Festival Hawaii recently announced that it will award one $1,000 college scholarship to a deserving graduating high school senior, and applications are being accepted through March 31 for fall 2012.

Applicants must have plans to continue their education at an accredited college or university, enjoy playing the ukulele and demonstrate financial need. Forms must be accompanied by a personal essay and two letters of reference, one of which must be from a high school teacher.

Ukulele Festival Hawaii is a nonprofit organization that builds public awareness and interest in the ukulele and promotes Hawaii’s arts and culture through education, scholarships and free ukulele festivals.
