Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii – 9/11/13
Dr. Ryan Lee has joined Shriners Hospitals for Children-Honolulu as first staff pediatric neurologist. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of children and adolescents with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system, with particular interest in conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other forms of developmental delay. Prior to joining Shriners hospital, Lee had been a faculty instructor with the Department of Neurology and Developmental Medicine at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Russ Winkelman, director of finance and procurement with Sunetric, has been appointed to the board of the Hawaii Solar Energy Association. He will work alongside member installers, distributors, manufacturers, auditors and financiers of solar water heating and photovoltaic systems to promote the widespread adoption of solar systems and Hawaii’s energy independence from fossil fuels.
Bettina Mehnert has been named CEO of Architects Hawaii Ltd. Licensed in Germany and the U.S., Mehnert has a wide range of project experience from design to execution. She has a comprehensive understanding of complex projects and insights for all phases of development. A third generation architect, Mehnert was the first woman in AHL’s history to be in a key leadership position, first as principal and director, then COO and now as CEO.
Merv Yoshimoto has been named president of Obun Hawaii. He now will lead the printing company’s statewide operations, as well as develop and execute business strategies, oversee daily operations to ensure the company’s sustained profitability and more. Prior to joining Obun, Merv worked for the state Department of Human Services under the budget and procurement sections for 11 years.
Liana Bisch has joined Geobunga as sales and marketing representative. She will be responsible for helping Geobunga expand its growing commercial clientele including architects, landscape contractors and general contractors with their landscape and hardscaping needs. Bisch has 18 years of experience in sales and marketing and visual merchandising.
Erika Kwock has joined Kaiser Permanente Hawaii as a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology. She will practice out of the Waipio clinic. Kwock earned her medical degree from John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed her residency through the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program.
Michael Imada has been named sales manager of Tropic Fish Hawaii’s food service division. Imada began his employment with Tropic Fish Hawaii in May. He has an extensive background in the food and beverage industry and brings that expertise and experience to his new position. He previously was chef de cuisine for Japengo at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa.
Michelle Tandara has joined the management team of Blood Bank of Hawaii as the center’s director of recruitment. She will oversee the 20-member recruitment team, responsible for bringing in the 55,000 units of blood needed annually by Hawaii’s patients. Prior to joining BBH, Tandara managed the donor-recruitment department at Inland Northwest Blood Center in Spokane, Wash., since 2000. She has held donor-recruitment positions in the blood banking industry since 1996.
