Choral Society Open Rehearsals

Windward Choral Society plans an open house rehearsal Aug. 27 at Kailua United Methodist Church to welcome interested singers into the experience. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. for registration and collecting the music.

The 100-voice chorus performs ethnic, traditional and master choral works under the direction of Susan McCreary Duprey with accompanist Grant Mack. They rehearse from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays in order to “promote the joy, love and appreciation of multicultural choral music with the public through a non-auditioned community-based chorus.”

Members range from teenagers to adults, and they come from all over the island. The nonprofit chorus has performed more than 20 concerts since it was established by Duprey in 2008.
