Chamber Sets Health Care Talks

A business mixer later this month offers East Oahu small businesspeople a good lunch and a closer look at the Affordable Health Care Act.

At the Hawaii Kai Chamber of Commerce seminar, set for 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at Hawaii Kai Golf Course’s Queen’s Beach Restaurant, HMAA (Hawaii Medical Assurance Association) officials Reg Baker, Paul Kaiser and Dr. John Aoki will speak on the issue from a health and wellness perspective, and how the measure will impact small business in Hawaii.

Topics include insurance exchanges, employer- and individual-shared responsibility, essential benefits, premium and other tax credits, small business health care and implementation timelines.

“This dramatic change will affect individuals as well as small businesses,” stated chamber president Janayhe Self, “and how they appropriate additional coverages, costs and filings for all under the act. We urge you to bring the executives from your company to receive this information and to ask questions.”
