Kapolei Golf Tournament To Benefit AIDS-fighting Nonprofit
The Life Foundation will sponsor its inaugural Par-Tee Charity Golf Tournament Sept. 30 at Kapolei Golf Club to support its work in stopping the spread of HIV – and assisting people who currently are living with HIV/AIDS.
Team and individual registration is now open for the four-person scramble. Included in the registration fee are green fees, range tokens, a golf cart, light refreshments and lunch, and a player gift bag. Following the tournament will be a banquet reception/awards dinner with raffles and a silent auction.
Founded in 1983, the Life Foundation offers services that include AIDS case management, school-based AIDS education, sterile needle exchange, peer support for positives, treatment education and peer-to-peer HIV prevention outreach. Its efforts also include referrals to medical and mental health care, as well as providing basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. It has worked with more than 3,000 individu-
opment associate C. Amina Peterson.
“Our goal is to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS on Oahu, as well as to raise $10,000.”
Entry deadline is Sept. 20. For more details, visit lifefoundation.org or call Peterson at 521-2437, ext. 252.
