Pineapple Festival Seeking For Exhibitors

The Wahiawa Pineapple Festival has free space available for nonprofit ethnic, culture/arts, educational and environmental groups.

Participants must provide their own canopy, furnishings, electrical power and exhibit. Health and human service agencies, and other nonprofit service organizations and school clubs may be subject to a $25 or $50 fee.

Now in its 11th year, the Festival attracts more than 5,000 people to Wahiawa District Park. The fun begins at 9 a.m. with a parade that includes cash prizes for Most Spirited- and Best Pineapple-themed units. At 10 a.m. the craft and food booths and cultural exhibits open, and at noon there is a contest for the person best dressed as a pineapple.

Keiki activities include bouncers, rides, face painting and balloon animals. The free, live entertainment features the third annual Wahiawa Jazz Festival.

Paid exhibit space is available to vendors. Fee is $100 for product vendors, $400 for food vendors, and $300 for for-profit businesses. Deadline to reserve a space is Aug. 3.

Vendor application and contracts, and other information is available at wahiawapinefest.com or by calling Alesia Au at 694-0103.
