Singing Encore For Kunia Center Contest

Singers have another chance to compete in the Kunia Live singing competition and show their stuff.

The second qualifying event for this round is set for 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 31 at Kunia Shopping Center in the Bank of Hawaii parking lot.

The competition is open to singers ages 6 years old and older, and participants will be divided into three age groups: 6 to 11, 12 to 17, and 18 and up.

A panel of judges will evaluate the performances.

First-, second- and third-place winners from each age category will be selected and will receive prizes from shopping center merchants.

First-place winners also will earn a $50 gift certificate from local performing arts school Pas De Deux.

Participants can register online at shopkunia.com. Walk-in registration also will be accepted on the day of the event if there is space available.

Kunia Shopping Center is located at 94-673 Kupuohi St. in Waipahu.
